Are You Mentally Allergic to Natural Health Supplements?
The cheapest way to avoid huge hospitalization bills is to keep healthy. Not to do so is the most expensive way to live life. And to have good health, we have to go natural most of the time. For us middle income folks, the cheapest way is to opt for natural health supplements.

Taking natural health supplements is often cheaper than eating natural and fresh fruits and vegetables daily. But unfortunately, a lot of people seem mentally "allergic" to natural health supplements. They have developed the mindset that these are "bad" for their health.

Incredible what some doctors do to the mental beliefs of their patients.

However, the fact is, synthetic medicines are really the ones we should be careful about, They do real damage to health. A little overdose can endanger your life. With natural health supplements, there is no overdose.

Admittedly, natural health supplements are not designed to replace synthetic medicines. They are supplemental in nature--an "added" food source to help your body get more nutrition easily. More organic nutrition does a lot of good to your immune health. And indeed, natural supplements come from natural food--fruits, herbs and vegetables--nothing more.

So, what's wrong about natural fruits, herbs and vegetables? These are God's creation he designed for our bodies. Read about it in the bible. Synthetic and chemical medicines are never in God's design for us.

Yet, of course, this blog does not encourage you to take natural health supplements against your will. You can ask your doctor about it before you take them, but it will only work if your doctor believes in alternative medicine and natural food supplements. If not, he'll only talk against it and tell you things he probably knows nothing about.

In my case, I take natural supplements with medicines. For instance, I take synthetic antibiotic when I have infection (as prescribed by my doctor) together with my all-natural non-acidic Vitamin C natural supplement that comes from young corn.

The truth remains--God designed our bodies to be fed and treated with natural food, not chemicals.

HOW HEALTHY IS BANANA CUE? For Banana Lovers Like Me

If you're a banana lover like me, you probably love eating banana cue and turon as well. Banana cue is dip frying "saba" or cardava banana rolled in brown sugar. Turon, on the other hand, is "saba" or cardava banana wrapped in egg-roll wrapper, the type used for spring rolls, sprinkled with brown sugar. Sometimes, they even put slices of langka or jackfruit in it. SM Save More outlets sellthem for only P15 per big piece.

Anyway, if you eat these cooked bananas, what health benefit do you get? Do you get all the health benefits bananas give?

Cooked bananas give you dietary fibers, nothing more, nothing less. Well, you also get some carbohydrates from the brown sugar and fat from the cooking oil. By the way, included here is sweetened "saba" which is banana boiled in water with brown sugar and sometimes added with vanilla extract. At least with this, you eliminate cooking oil.

Bananas are supposed to be super healthy with lots of vitamins and minerals …

HEALTH BENEFITS OF PATOLA: Don't Judge a Veggie by It's Rough Look

"Pulis patola" is a term popularized in Filipino movies on supposedly lousy cops. It denotes an inept policeman trained in a far-flung province where cops know nothing except probably to eat and sleep. But in the Filipino movies, the rustic "patola" cop turns out to be a good and skillful cop who manages to ruin a powerful syndicate singlehandedly.

Thus, "patola" or sponge gourd is a common rough-looking vegetable almost nobody pays attention to (some even smirks at the sigh to fit) and considered low class vegetable. Why "sponge" gourd? The core of the fruit looks like crude sponge, but it sure doesn't taste like one. Patola is  often mixed in soups, especially plain and ordinary miswa soup to add some sweet flavor to it. It's also cheap--just perfect for anyone aiming for health and fitness with middle income budget.

Here are some of its health benefits:
It's low in calories. If you're trying to lose weight, eat more of this to …

Harvard Study Says Chicken Skin is Healthy!

You used to take off chicken skin because doctors and nutritionists said it's bad for your heart. So, with broken hearts we did so, stripping the golden brown and juicy skin from our roasted or grilled chicken and couldn't believe we were actually throwing away all that goodness into the trash.

And we wondered why God made chicken skin so delicious just so we could throw it all away.

But a new Harvard study says chicken skin is actually good for your health---to be specific, your heart health. It says most of the fatty part of chicken skin (the most mouthwatering one) is unsaturated and healthy for the heart. And that's according to studies done by the Harvard School of Public Health, no less.

Unsaturated fat can lower your cholesterol and blood pressure, the Harvard school said, according to an article on The Daily Meal site titled "Doctor's Got It All Wrong!" So, if the study is correct (I'm waiting for another "study" to contradict this---al…
