PET CANCER: Do You Have One?

digital-photography-school.com
A pet cancer?

Many people don't realize that they have a pet cancer in them. They care for and feed them without knowing it. They always attend to its needs and wants. And most times, they spend a lot to help them grow and live comfortably.

Crazy, isn't it? But it's true.

We all have cancer cells in our bodies, but for healthy people the number are so minimal they can't be detected by tests. They're negligible. And anyway, healthy people with healthy lifestyles never care for or pet their cancer cells. In fact, their health kills them instantly.

But unhealthy people with unhealthy daily lifestyles pet cancer. They grow them and help them multiply. How? Consider this:

  • They eat lots of carbs and sweets. Sugar is a cancer cell's favorite food. The more sweets you eat the faster your cancer grows and later spreads.
  • They eat little to no fruits and vegetables. They love eating meats, especially processed meats.
  • They love junk food and softdrinks.
  • They love to smoke and drink liquor and stay out late almost each night.
  • They hate exercise or too much physical activity. They'd rather stay in one place, like sit at their desk all day.
  • They love to eat out than cook their own food at home.
If you do all the above, you're actually an avid pet cancer lover. And I suppose the pet cancer you have is doing very well and may soon surprise you one day--even build a family.

But the above is not the worst-case scenario.

If you live daily with too much stress--and have learned to live with it--your pet cancer will grow more rapidly. Too much stress is the greatest cancer grower and booster. Sometimes, even without the list above--even if you eat healthy and hit the gym daily--too much stress can still grow a pet cancer in you.

The secret to a pet-cancer-free life is to relax, be happy, eat healthy and enjoy working out. It's not expensive, is it? It's cheap health and fitness with middle income budget.

WHY DIALYSIS CLINICS ARE EVERYWHERE TODAY: What Destroys Your Kidneys?

freseniusvascularcare.com
There seems to be one dialysis clinic in every locality. Sometimes, it seems there's one in each street corner. In fact, they're everywhere, they've become good business.

I remember how in my childhood I never saw any dialysis clinic. Dialysis was never heard of then. The first time I heard of it was in the 1980s when former President Ferdinand Marcos was on it. The mere sound of it was scary.

Today, cases of kidney problems needing dialysis have terribly grown. I hear about it left and right. I often see it online--folks asking for help to finance their dialysis treatments or else kidney transplant. A session is said to cost P2,500 (that's 4 to 5 harrowing hours) and some need dialysis 2 to 3 times a week. I know someone who died so young allegedly because of losing almost 100 percent of his kidney function without knowing it, until it was too late.

So what's happening?

Chemicals in Food

First, it's because of modern foods available to us today--being rich in salt and chemical or artificial spices. Beware especially of gravy sauces (I see some folks pour gravy sauce abundantly on their rice!) and popular chemical food mix sold in sachets today--or those in instant noodles (contrary to what popular TV commercials say, instant noodles are bad for your kids!). These ingredients make your kidneys work too much and later destroy them.

The solution here is seldom eat out. Stay away from"instant" foods. Cook your own food and make sure they're all from natural and fresh ingredients with minimal salt.

Lack of Water

Modern "fastfood" eating makes people drink less water and more sodas, softdrinks, and other delicious but sugar-rich beverages. Even fruit shakes (like pineapple juices in most fastfoods) are full of white sugar which is bad for your kidneys. People drink too little pure water nowadays.

The solution is drink at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water daily (better if alkaline but tap water will do) and drink before meals, not during or right after meals. Water is so important for detox, especially for eliminating chemicals and salts from your body system.

Synthetic Medicines

Medical doctors today are fond of automatically prescribing synthetic medicines for every illness. If you have high blood pressure for instance, they often require you to take maintenance medicine at once. Problem is, if you load up too much on synthetic medicines, your kidneys and liver suffer a lot. Some maintenance medicines for diabetes, especially, eventually leads to kidney destruction, ending up in dialysis or death.

A topnotch medical scientist and medical official of Vital-C who specializes on nutrition and how medicines work in the body--Dr. Jose M Oclarit (you may Google his profile) says ailments should be treated from their root causes, not symptoms.

For instance, if someone has high blood pressure due to stress and unhealthy diet, the stress and diet should be addressed first. He usually gives some Vital-C natural supplement to the patient that will take care of the root causes and very often the ailment would be cured without any need for synthetic maintenance medicine. The kidneys and liver are also protected this way. No complications.

WHEN YOU COULDN'T AVOID A DINNER FEAST: Tips on How to Keep Slim

Sample of what Dan ordered..
It happens. And sometimes, it happens a lot and in succession. Someone invites you for a dinner feast and you simply can't say no. A ton of good delicious food is served before you in an ideal resto ambiance and everything is simply conducive to eating a lot. What do you do?

Well, I eat!

It's not everyday that you get to eat delicious and costly food in a nice restaurant with friends (and especially former school mates). And if you've been having healthy balanced diets for a long while, a feast now and then won't hurt. Among life's spices is enjoying really good food.

So here came this former college classmate, Dan, from Australia who PMed me on Facebook about dinner at SM North--a reunion of sorts. It's been years since we last met, so I said yes. And man, you'd be overwhelmed at the appetizing native foods he ordered at Mesa, a cozy native Filipino resto that serves good fried veggie lumpia, among other things, located on the third floor.

Again, the day after, Jo texted me at 7.30 pm saying Dan was hosting another full-packed dinner feast at Mesa. Could I come on such short notice? I asked my wife and she gave it a go. So there I was, eating a lot again.

Now, what made me so confident about not being affected physically by a dinner feast?

When you couldn't avoid a feast, here are tips on how to keep slim:
  • Forget about the rice, just eat viands.
  • Go after the vegetables and fruits, with some seafood and few meats and porks.
  • Don't drink water while eating. Drink an hour after eating.
  • The next day, make sure to do water therapy--3 tall glasses first thing in the morning. That's for super detox.
  • Workout the next day.
  • Enjoy cleansing snacks. In my case, it's a mango fruit, 3 uncooked saba bananas, and a glass of kalamansi juice.
This neutralizing slimming strategy won't cost you much--a perfect cheap health and fitness with middle income budget.

This morning, I just ate 2 hard boiled eggs for breakfast after water therapy. Then took 2 caps of Vital-C sodium ascorbate (non-acidic Vitamin C). I feel light and energetic! Praise God!

Tomorrow, I anticipate an eat-all-you-can at Daddy's because a relative from the US just flew in.

Same routine.

How to Maintain Workouts Despite Busyness--Or Laziness

mylifeinapyramid.com
If you're so, so busy like I am, you probably sometimes struggle about keeping your workout routine. I have that problem a lot of times, especially when I get sick and have stopped working out for a while and then about to start again. I feel like not starting again.

Or, the rainy days take over and it's so cold and all you want is to stay in bed and watch DVDs and eat.

Or, you are attending a seminar that makes you go home late at night and prods you to wake up so early in the morning--for 4 straight days! You feel like resting to the max after that and then feeling unable to start working out again.

What do you do?

In my case, I watch a lot of martial arts on Youtube or watch martial arts movies. I get inspired and want to get back to working out pronto. I see the well carved bodies of the protagonists and want to achieve something like that--so I hit the gym again, which is my garage.

In short, you need inspiration. Where do you get it? I easily get it from watching videos which are easily accessible online. Sometimes I watch videos on pull-ups or horizontal bars like this one:

Now, who wouldn't be inspired after watching that?

Or, I often watch fit martial artists do their thing. This is one of my favorites. Lee never fails to inspire my workouts, particularly in this scene. Each time I see this, I can't wait to workout at once:

And look at how Donnie Yen does his workout with a graceful physique:

You spend nothing to be inspired by such videos--except electric consumption, of course. It's definitely for cheap health and fitness with middle income budget. So, every time you feel like skipping your workouts due to busyness or laziness, just watch a video.

CHEST EXPANDERS: So You Can Take Your "Gym" with You Anywhere You Go

rockbottomgolf.com
You should have exercise breaks. Have two in the morning and two in the afternoon--and this is aside from your regular workouts. It's like food--you have 3 meals a day and have snacks in between. For your in-between exercises, I recommend Chest Expanders.

A chest expander is a portable isometric equipment with sturdy springs in-between the two handles. You pull the springs by holding both handles and stretching them in opposite directions. It works out your chest, arms, back and abdominal muscles. You may also use it to exercise your legs.

So, what I do is stand up from my PC desk now and then, reach for my chest expander and start pulling. Pull it as far as you can and then hold it like that for 5 to 7 seconds, and then release. Inhale as you pull and exhale as you release.

If you want broad shoulders and V-shape body, chest expanders help a lot.

I also use it to tone my arm and forearm muscles. It's a perfect exercise equipment for empowering your holds, grabs and punches if you're into martial arts like me. By the way, my chest expander has built in hand grips, just like in the picture above.

Because it's portable and easy to fold, you can bring your chest expander anywhere you go if you're on a trip. Put it in your luggage, hand-carry bag, or in the car. At home, it's easy to keep in drawers or cabinets. Or just hang it. You can take it while jogging so you can do chest-expander pulls somewhere after your jog, like at the park. Some of my jogging mates do stretches and some push-ups at the plaza after jogging. But they can do better if they had a chest expander along.

I can use it as a weapon in case an emergency requires you to defend yourself using some kind of a weapon. Very versatile piece of workout equipment. And very cheap, too, compared to other gym equipments. You should have one. Chest expanders are ideal for cheap health and fitness with middle income budget.

The simpler the equipment, the more convenient it is to use. You won't need a partner to use this equipment, and yet you can use it with other people--friends and family. I've always been a loner with my workouts because I choose systems that can work for me even if I do workouts alone. Well, I can also be comfy working out with others. But being a writer working in my home office cubicle, I'm often alone.

Watch this video on the various uses of a chest expander to get a hint:

See how versatile and fun it is? And yes, you can adjust the spring power by taking off some of the springs or using all five of them.

What to Eat to Eat Less

davidgregory.org
Eat to eat less? Sounds good, doesn't it? And it's true. Here are tips on what to eat less by eating.

1. Eat beans

Beans are high in protein and fibers. Thus, they're slow to digest. They stay longer in the tummy making you feel full longer, and thus eating less.

2. Take Soups

Before you eat the main meal, try taking a cup or two of soup--and choose those with low calories. Thus, before you go to the main course, your tummy already feels full. That's fooling your tummy.

3. Eat Dark Chocolate

A small square or two of your favorite dark chocolate can help you lessen food intake during meals. The trick is to eat it just before meals. It's was noted to help lessen eating by 15 percent in one study.

4. Add Pureed Veggies

Add pureed vegetables to your food to cheat your tummy into "thinking" it's full. Add them to your burgers, meat dishes, fillets, and others. What I often do is add cabbage or turnips sliced super thin into spring rolls or other roll dishes.

5. More Protein

Eating protein rich food in the morning helps a lot to make snacks less appealing the rest of the day. In fact, with enough protein in the morning, you'd probably eat less during lunch and supper. So, load up with eggs, tofu, lean meat and milk in the morning together with your limited rice or bread.

6. Eat Fruits

Before meals, eat generous portions of various fruits--apples, bananas, mangoes, etc. This loads your tummy with safe carbs so that little space is left in your tummy for the main course.

CHEAP AND EFFECTIVE TUMMY SHRINKER: Delicious Too!

swimsummit.com
Before I tell you what it is (the cheap and effective tummy shrinker), let me share first how constipation adds to your tummy size.

Well, it's kindof self-explanatory because constipation accumulates wastes in the tummy, so naturally it increases tummy size. It's no-brainer.

Besides, constipation adds to tummy bloatedness, so that's another cause for tummy size increase. And if waste accumulates in the tummy, more toxins congregate there and that disrupts proper digestion. Poor digestion leads to poor fat storage regulation.

In other words, if your digestive system works improperly, your body tends to store more fat.

Clearly, you have to get rid of constipation.

And the cheapest way is to eat more fresh greens---green leafy vegetables. I don't recommend synthetic anti-constipation supplements or even chemically preserved fruits like preserved prunes. The preserving chemical used can cause allergies.

I do recommend preserved fruits made by proper fermenting.

So, eat more green veggies. And here I recommend moringa (malunggay), spinach and mustard. I especially recommend mustard (mustasa) leaves because they're easily available in wet markets in Manila (and most Asian countries), they're cheap and because you can easily mix them with souped dishes, meat or fish.

I love it in fish sinigang dishes like maya-maya or milkfish (bangus) sauteed in miso.

Green leaves make bowel movement easier and smoother, the natural way. This also causes you to lose weight if done regularly. Sometimes, bowel movement takes effect after a meal of green leafy. Sometimes it takes a day or two, depending on the severity of the constipation.

But don't eat too much if you tend to get bloated. Too much fibers can bloat tummies, too.

Don't worry if the leaves don't seem to have been digested, coming out intact, especially moringa. The human body naturally does not have enzymes that digest green leafy. But the good thing is that green leafy "magnetizes" stubborn stool that refuses to come out during bowel movement. It takes with it clogged wastes so you get rid of constipation.

By the way, below is a video on how to make pickled or fermented mustard leaves (my favorite).

With regular bowel movement due to green leafy, you'd lose tummy size eventually. It's cheap and effective tummy shrinker for cheap health and fitness with middle income budget.

And do avoid carnivorous diets, as much as possible.

MORINGA or MALUNGGAY TEA: Cheap Weight Loss Health Drink

herbalteasonline.com
Moringa or malunggay has a lot of health and fitness uses. It's so versatile too--can be taken as simple food, food mixture (mixed in other foods or bread and pastries), or beverage like tea. If you want cheap weight loss health drink for cheap health and fitness with middle income budget--moringa tea is it.

Here's how it works--free radical damage affects even your neurotransmission system in the brain so that lack of neurotransmitters can make you feel like you need to eat more when in fact you have had enough food for a meal. That's how free radicals destroy cells and disrupt normal body and brain functions.

Moreover, free radicals hasten the aging process. When you age fast your body also reduces the ability to process food properly. So, instead of naturally burning fat and keeping just enough of it in the body, your body stores more fat. Free radicals can affect body metabolism, or how your body naturally burns fat.

Free radicals destroy the normal functions of your body system.

But the good news is, free radicals are destroyed by antioxidants. And you need not spend a lot of money for this. Simply eat more moringa. Or drink more moringa tea. It has zero caffeine but has lots of nutrients and antioxidants. If you want to lose weight, drinking more moringa tea or malunggay tea will help a lot.

I love it's sweet taste and aroma!

Moreover, free radicals hasten the aging process. When you age fast your body also reduces the ability to process food properly.

How do you make your own moringa tea? Just boil the leaves and stems and drink the brew. Or, you can dry the leaves and crush them to make them look like regular teas you see in the market and then brew them and drink the extract--really cheap weight loss health drink!

Here's a simple way of making powdered moringa.

If you want to make it like tea leaves, simply dry it and crush it using a blender.

Of course, do it with regular workouts. Moringa tea is just a supplement for cheap health and fitness with middle income budget.

CHEAP TUMMY FAT REDUCTION: For Those Tied to their Desk Work

It's something like this!
shape.com
Few people on earth aren't bothered by their tummies. Most likely, you are among those who are. You want to trim down your tummy size to flat level but you find it too expensive to do--let alone find time for it because your job or business ties you to your desk work all day.

So, why not try this cheap tummy fat reduction strategy?

When you're sitting at your desk, take tummy exercise breaks. You simply pull your knees up as high as you can to your chest, one at a time. Do it slowly but make sure the knee go as high as it can. Then hold it at that height for 10 seconds. Do 10 repetitions each knee. Inhale as you lift the knee and exhale as you hold it for 10 seconds. You may place each hand at each side of the rear end of your chair for support.

It's something like the image above. Do this several times each day--preferably 4 times in the morning and 4 times in the afternoon. You don't have to leave your desk to do this and you won't have to buy special equipment. It's really for cheap tummy fat reduction.

Then supplement it with this weight loss diet. Eat this for breakfast:
  1. 2 boiled eggs
  2. A good size of sweet potato
  3. Oatmeal with some milk and brown sugar
  4. 2 bananas
  5. Soya curd (taho) or soya milk
The boiled eggs you should eat only two times a week. Make sure you consult your doctor about this weight loss diet.

Then, for lunch, eat just enough of everything while limiting your rice to a cup. For supper, eat no rice.

If this is okay with you, I'd add a little of push-ups if I were you. If you're a newbie to exercise, do 15 to 20 push-ups early in the morning and in the afternoon. When I was  an employee, I did push-ups early mornings, after lunch at about 2 pm at the office, and another one late in the afternoon when I got home.

This cheap tummy fat reduction program is really "cheap"--it's cheap health and fitness with middle income budget. Do this diligently for 6 months and see the result.

BENDING BAR: Middle Income Muscle Developer and Fat Burner

www.youtube.com
Most middle income people cannot afford steel weight plates, weight bar and weight training bench. More so a gym membership. All we can afford is what we can make do at home--improvised barbells (of concrete) and horizontal bar, Even an improvised steel weight training bench is something beyond the reach of a middle income budget.

So what I bought, aside from making my concrete barbells and improvised pull-up bar, is a bending bar or bending spring bar. Aside from being effective and easy to bring anywhere you are, it's cheap. I started training with a bending bar in high school to develop muscle power, on to college and up to the present. It's among reasons why I developed lightning speed and powerful martial arts punches.

With a bending bar, you can develop the following muscle group:
  1. Arm muscles (biceps and triceps)
  2. forearms
  3. Chest
  4. Back (especially for a V-shape body)
  5. Shoulders
  6. Abs
  7. Leg muscles
Use a bending bar to develop your:
  1. Grip, forearm, arm and wrist strength (for punching power).
  2. Grabbing and pulling.
  3. Arm lock
  4. Leg stance
For various bending bar techniques that really work (and which I did), just watch the video:

With discipline and persistence, it's easy to tone up and develop your muscles with a simple bending bar. You can even use it to burn some fats to develop your abs. It's ideal for cheap health and fitness with middle income budget. To buy one and have it delivered, visit this link.

DON'T STAY LONGER THAN 2 MONTHS WITH AN INEFFECTIVE WORKOUT: Innovate to Come Up with Something that Works

aliexpress.com
If you've been doing a workout for 2 months without good results, it's probably time to switch to a new workout program or supplement the one you're presently doing. I've seen some folks who've been doing a workout program for a year or two without visible results and yet keep at it.

It's either you need to change the program you're doing or add something to it. It may be lacking an element that would make it effective. For instance, if your crunch isn't making your abs look any better, you probably need to add some horizontal bar abs-tensioning rounds for a supplement. It's when you hang on a bar and raise your legs slowly to waist level and down, and so on.

I've seen folks jog for years to reduce their waistlines to no avail. If you do that for two months without results, you probably need to improvise. I once did 50 push-ups daily. Though it strengthened my arms and quickened my jabs, no muscle improvement was evident. Later, I learned I needed to do it in 4 sets. When I did, the results were amazing.

Even with the Look AHEAD study data, they found out that 2 months of Intensive Lifestyle Intervention or ILI which amounted to no satisfactory weight loss results may be a sign that the workout program either needs improvements or additions or total replacement with a better ILI.

Accordingly, the first two months are crucial. They can indicate whether a program is working or not, and whether it will work in the future if you keep doing it. If a program doesn't work for you in two months, it will probably not work for you at all even if you do it for a hundred years.
To avoid wasting time and energy on something that wouldn't work with physical fitness, apply the same Look AHEAD principle. Try a program seriously for 2 months. If it works, keep at it. If it doesn't, innovate or try a new one.

By the way, pull-ups on horizontal bars is a good way to achieve cheap health and fitness with middle income budget. Make your home-made horizontal bar and start pulling up. I have one in my garage and it wonderfully helps me keep fit.

If you want a good intro on pull-ups, watch the FREE video here!
