According to Men's Health, most men lack 5 nutrients, at least in the US. Men in other countries have better pay serious attention as well because a lot of us are not that meticulous about food, particularly nutrition in food. We just eat anything delicious and we think all we need is protein. The same goes for a lot of women.

Here are the nutrients we lack:
- Vitamin D
- Magnesium
- Vitamin B12
- Potassium
- Iodine
Why do we lack them? The website doesn't say but common sense will tell us it's because we're not nutrition-conscious until we get seriously sick and medicines start to eat up our budget. Then we become health-conscious.
It's basic how getting enough vitamins and minerals is part of good health and vital for the immune system. We don't need medical and health experts to tell us this. Yet, we often demand "proofs" that we indeed need them in supplements. We'd rather believe that we get everything we need from the food we eat. So we say, "just eat."
But here's the problem with just eating food. Unless fruits and vegetables are freshly picked from trees and plants and eaten immediately, their nutrients are depleted when they're transported, exposed to heat, handled during packing and unpacking and stay long periods in grocery stores. Plus the fact that they're mostly grown with harmful chemicals and fertilizers, not to mention some are GMO treated.
With meats, it's almost the same sad story. Domesticated animals are fed with GMO feeds and injected with antibiotics and artificial growth hormones. Eating raw vegetables is ideal (if you harvest them from your own backyard to make sure they're pesticide-free) but I wish we can do the same with meat, although some folks do eat raw meat.
The safest and most practical thing to do is to supplement. But choose the ones with high and proven quality for good results. Aside from my regular workouts I take supplements to make sure my body gets all it needs. And I eat healthy food that I often cook myself to make sure only healthy stuff go in it. In times I eat out (when I have no choice but to eat out), I take my fresh ginger brew with green tea in the early evening before bed for detox and getting rid of sugars.
When you feel strong mentally and physically, you're ready to discover the power God put within you.
